Sports club membership contract template

What's in the template
- Parties: the club (non-profit), the parent and the athlete, with minor-representation logic
- Fees and billing: amount, due date, reference number usage, payment pause during illness and family discount
- Rights and obligations: training organisation, cancellations, house rules
- Health and liability: health disclosures, injury risk allocation, insurance recommendation
- Personal data: GDPR-compliant processing and a separate revocable photo/video consent
- Duration and termination: notice periods, consequences of arrears and a signature block
How to use it

Replace every bracketed [...] field with your club's details: names, amounts, deadlines.

Review clauses 3.5 (payment pause) and 8.2 (notice period) critically. These vary most between clubs.

Have a lawyer look it over if needed and start using it, on paper or with digital signatures.

Is this contract legally binding?
The template follows the logic of Estonian contract law and covers the usual clauses of a sports club agreement, but it is a general template, not legal advice. Adapt it to your club and consult a lawyer if your situation has specifics.
Does the same template suit adult members?
Yes. Simply omit the minor's representative lines and contract directly with the member. The clauses on fees, data protection and termination apply the same way.
Does the contract have to be on paper?
No. A digitally signed contract is equally valid, and more convenient, since neither party keeps paper. Clause 9.3 of the template covers both options.
